Domesticating Ari

I am alone

This happens so rarely that I have a million things going through my head. What should I do it says. I have presents to wrap, a house to clean, laundry to do, naps to be had, music to crank.... AND NO KIDS!! Emma is at school and my mom held her promise and took Josh to her house for a few days. He was a little nervous having to go on the ferry at night but he's so over that now. You'd think I'd sleep in without him this morning but no. The one day where I am up early on my own free will. It's nice with just the little miss too. This morning we went to the library. It is such a crappy small library that I am sure I could read it end to end in a few months but it was an outing at least. And one where it was just the girls. Which reminds me I have books to read....

Tomorrow is Emma's first field trip and then her first ever Christmas concert debut. She has 2 appearances. The afternoon one is the one my mom will be bringing Josh back in time for and the evening one is the one we'll all be going to. I am so taking pictures of this. Emma told me she was a little nervous this morning because of it. It melted my heart.

So I should be grateful and just move on. This is Christmas, my season :) Get with it Ari...

Too much drama

No matter what i say, it will always come back as "well now you know how Rae feels" when in reality that is completly irrelevant. To any of my MV readers, you have really hurt me. I understand that asking Rae not to come back was not the best thing to do, but is there really a need to make me feel so isolated and small? In the past I have made some bad choices and no matter what they were, I have always been accountable for them. But to have so many of you see my apology and just leave it... Really bothers me.

I am in a new stage in my life and I know that past occurances had led some to perceive me in a certain way and I understand that. What I don't get is why some people just can't give you a little less, banter when your down. Words hurt. Do I really need to know how bad I reacted when many others have also said the same? Does it have to be said in such a manner that makes me cry? Does it always have to be the same person who says the same kind of thing?

The more I think about it the more I realise too that my safe place, just isn't that anymore either. This is not the first time I have felt isolated from something I helped create. This is not the first time I wished to delete myself from this place. Funny thing is that I can't even do that, since I have made the damn place, I am the only one person who I can't delete.

I am sad. Those who I thought really knew me, once again, let me down.

8 Days till christmas

This is it folks, the last week before the big day. My family starts arriving on Friday and before I know it, it will all be over. I am trying to hang on to every memory, every moment and every glimpse of Christmas cheer this year. This year I have nothing, but in reality I am so blessed and I have more than I had ever hoped for.

You may remember my post about my car. My windshield was cracked and my tires were balding and I was stuck at home when it had snowed. James parents have done it yet again. They said they would arrange for us to get our windshield fixed and pay our deductable. We were so happy. We went to get the car yesterday morning and as we walk out, we saw they had also purchased us 4 brand new premium tires. I cried. I am so blessed. This year we went bankrupt. It's been only 2 months and we are still just trying to figure out how to live on a budget. We are having all my family here for Christmas dinner and I was wondering how we could afford it but I got a call a few nights ago from my Dad asking if he could pay for all our food for that day. I was floored. Our family's keep helping us out and all we can do is hug them and say thank you.... Like I said, blessed.

Now Friday night was our company Christmas party. It went well with Dinner at the Keg and the after party was at our house. Besides my husband getting a little out of control, it was fun. Here is our annual before photo.

If death had a feeling...

Then I would feel like it. I caught my children's colds and man i am under the weather. I am sleeping like crap, I can't breath and my kids are full of piss and vinegar. They are upstairs yelling once again at each other. I really wish they would remember how I took care of the both of them while they threw up... and take care of me now. Maybe just be calm and quiet would be good enough. I Have school work to do today, I have to go shopping for the after party this Friday night and all I want to do is nothing. Tomorrow I have school and then Friday my Dad comes and picks up my kids and takes then for the night. Hopefully James and I will have time to clean up all the mess before we have to go pick the kids back up.

Somehow I highly doubt it.

Right now he's caught up in the christmas cheese but I assure you, after that the stories will be flowing. Who'd a thunk a chimney sweeps life could be so entertaining. I love my space...

Uugh

I guess I should be grateful last night was not worse that it was but even still, I am exausted. Last night I woke up out of a dead sleep to Emma yelling for me. She never yells for me, always Daddy but this time it was me. So I jabbed James out of bed to run and see what was going on (yeah I always stay in bed) and he goes to her room and then calls me. he said "you better come here" and I knew that it was bad. When I got there it was. She had thrown up all over herself and her bed and on her pillow. She was a mess. Totally confused and covered in puke. Yippee that is exactly what I love to do at 12:45am. Barf clean-up. NOT. But after we got her washed up and made the sick bed beside my bed and provided her with her own barf bowl, she went to sleep and that was it. I was sure with every stir she was going to be sick again but she never did.

The point of this story is A) I am glad it was only once and B) she felt so loved when both of us were tending to her and then made her little bed beside me. That kind of love he'll remember forever.

I still remember my mom doing that for me.

Happy Monday

It's finally not snowing but now it's raining and I just want to be able to walk to school without getting wet by either. We have nasty dirty snow all along side the roads and the plow has plowed my driveway shut numerous times so I have to drag help my children gently over the hump of mess. Then there are no sidewalks that are clear so I either get to walk on the road with the kids or go on the snow that is now transforming into slush and get off the road. Yay.

24 Days till Christmas

Are you ready for it? I am so not even close. I have  bought no gifts, none of the food I am cooking and I have many many people coming for the big day. I am usually a last minute shopper although I did go to toys r us last week to try and find the baby alive Emma wants but there were none there. Totally ripped off. The biggest toy store we have and none there. Walmart carries like 3 of them so there are never any there and then toys r us. Whatever, I am so over the baby alive. I don't want to clean up it's mess and I am sure Emma won't want to after a while either. So plan B is needed now. Perhaps a swimming Ariel or the 12 dancing princess castle? Everything is so over priced at this time of year and when your like me and you have no choice but to stick to a budget, it sucks.

Oh well, 24 days till the wrapping paper flies :)
